FDIC-Insured – Backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. Government
Great news! We’re making upgrades to serve you better.
We’re upgrading our technology over the weekend of September 11-14. These upgrades will bring significant efficiencies across our organization, allowing us to respond more quickly to your needs and deliver enhanced security, products, and services.
Your funds are secure and fully accessible via your debit card throughout the weekend.
The BankSouth routing number is not changing.
Continue using your current debit card and PIN. You do not need a new one.
You can continue to use your current supply of checks.
Any payments you have already scheduled in Online Banking will process normally.
The vast majority of account numbers are staying exactly the same. If your account number is changing, you will or have already received a separate letter in the mail with specific instructions. Should you have questions, however, our Customer Care team is willing to assist you.
You will notice a clean, new layout on your bank statements. Your statement will close as of September 11th. Activity from September 12th forward will be reflected on your next statement, so you may receive two statements in September. No printed statement fee will be assessed for this final statement.
You will absolutely still have access to your funds. Your debit card will work as usual, and the BankSouth app and Online Banking will be temporarily unavailable. The BankSouth app and Online Banking will return to normal on Monday, September 14th.
You can contact Customer Care for assistance during the upgrade weekend at (706) 453-2265.
Extended Customer Care hours are Saturday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Temporarily taking the system offline allows us to safely and accurately move customer information to our new banking platform. It’s the safest way to complete the conversion while protecting customer information.
Yes, you can use your debit card as you normally would before, during, and after the system upgrade.
No. Your existing card alerts and customized Card Control settings will need to be re-established after the upgrade. Make note of your settings before Sept. 11 and recreate them after the upgrade.
You can call Customer Care at (706) 453-2265. We will have extended Customer Care hours on Saturday from 8 AM to 5 PM, and again on Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM.
Mobile Deposit and Remote Deposit Capture will be unavailable during the upgrade weekend. BankSouth ATM deposits will also be temporarily unavailable once each ATM is upgraded. If you need to make a deposit during this period, please contact Customer Care at (706) 453-2265 or visit a branch before the upgrade weekend to discuss available options.
Telephone Banking will be unavailable during the upgrade weekend and will return on Monday, September 14.
When you first access the new system, you will need to establish a new PIN and should listen carefully to the prompts, as menu options will change.
All ATMs are being upgraded between September 8 and September 11. Beginning after each ATM upgrade and continuing through September 14, cash withdrawals will remain available. However, deposits and PIN changes will be temporarily unavailable.
To ensure the smoothest possible transition to our new system, we are dedicating all our internal resources that Saturday to the upgrade. While those physical lobbies are closed for the day, our Customer Care team will be available Saturday, September 12th, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and again on Sunday, September 13th, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
No, you will not! You can continue to use your current debit card without any interruption. We are also continuing with our same partner for Online Banking, so your digital experience will remain familiar.
During the upgrade weekend from September 11th to September 14th, you will not be able to log in and use mobile deposit. We expect all systems to be fully available on Monday, September 14th.
Your direct deposits (like payroll or Social Security) will continue to process normally unless you are informed otherwise.
Yes. Any bills you have scheduled to be paid prior to the upgrade weekend will process exactly as you scheduled them. You won’t need to set them up again.
Your records are completely safe! Because of the system upgrade, your historical statements will be migrated to our new platform. They may not be immediately available online, but they will be fully restored. If you need a specific past statement right away, we can provide that to you.

As part of our system upgrade, a small number of loan account numbers are changing. Your letter includes your new loan number and any steps you may need to take. If your loan payment is automatically drafted from a BankSouth deposit account, no action is required.
If you make your loan payment using Bill Pay or an automatic transfer through another bank or credit union, you will need to update those payment instructions with your new loan number after September 14, 2026. If your HELOC account number is changing, you may continue using your existing HELOC checks. You do not need to order new checks because of the account number change.
If you’re unsure how your payment is currently set up or whether you need to take action, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.
No, your current app will not change and you will continue to use your existing login credentials.
No, BankSouth’s routing number remains exactly the same.
As part of our system upgrade, we’re temporarily unable to print debit cards in our branches. Your permanent debit card will be mailed as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we have several options to keep you banking without interruption. Visit your local branch or call (706) 453-2265, and they’ll make sure you have what you need!
We expect all systems to be operational on Monday, September 14th.

Periodically, we will notify you of expected changes to some products or statements that you may currently receive from BankSouth.
Our goal is to make this transition as seamless as possible. We will communicate what to expect well in advance so you can prepare, and our team will be available throughout the weekend to assist you.
As we prepare for these system improvements, we want to assure you that our bank employees will be available to speak with you and personally handle every aspect of your banking needs. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact:
If you have questions before, during or after the upgrade, we’re here to help. Our Customer Care team will be available throughout the weekend, and as always, you may contact your Relationship Manager or any banker in our branches.
Unfortunately, scammers often use bank upgrades as an opportunity to trick customers. Please remember: BankSouth will NEVER call, text, or email you asking for your password, verification code, PIN, Social Security Number, or full account number.
If you receive a suspicious call or message claiming to be from BankSouth, do not click any links or provide any information. Hang up and call us directly at (706) 453-2265.
