After an illustrious career dedicated to supporting and empowering others, BankSouth announces the retirement of Traci Thrasher, Vice President and Human Resources Officer. A cornerstone of BankSouth’s success since 2011, Traci has brought over 30 years of expertise in Human Resources—more than 20 of those years within the banking industry.
Joining BankSouth during the acquisition of North Georgia Bank, Traci quickly became a key leader and advocate for BankSouth’s employee-centered culture. Her guidance and vision transformed the bank’s HR strategies, creating a workplace defined by collaboration, respect, and excellence. Traci’s leadership has been instrumental in building an environment where employees thrive both personally and professionally.
“Traci has been the backbone of our HR efforts, consistently bringing professionalism, compassion, and innovation to her role,” said David Cowles, EVP & COO of BankSouth. “Her dedication to supporting and fostering a positive workplace culture is unmatched. It’s been a privilege to work alongside someone with her depth of experience and passion for people.”
In addition to her professional achievements, Traci is known for her zest for life. She cherishes time with her husband, enjoys hitting the open road on her Honda Goldwing motorcycle, and is a proud supporter of her son, Chris; her daughters, Heather, who serves with honor as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army, and Sarah; and plenty of granddogs.
“Traci exemplifies the values that make BankSouth exceptional,” said Harold Reynolds, Chairman and CEO of BankSouth. “Her dedication to our employees and her ability to cultivate a culture of trust and inclusion have left an indelible mark. Traci’s legacy of compassion, integrity, and excellence will continue to inspire us long into the future.”
“It’s been an incredible journey to be part of the BankSouth family and contribute to our shared mission,” said Traci. “I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to work alongside such talented individuals and look forward to watching the bank as it continues to grow.”
We are incredibly thankful for Traci’s leadership over the course of her career, especially at BankSouth where she has created a culture where people truly want to come and make a difference.
Traci, we thank you for your unwavering dedication and wish you all the best in your well-earned retirement. You leave a legacy of excellence and a foundation for continued success at BankSouth.
