GREENSBORO – BankSouth is pleased to announce the addition of Chan Layson as Commercial Relationship Manager for the Lake Oconee area. In this position, Layson is responsible for business development and customer relationships in BankSouth’s Greene County market. Layson will guide businesses in the lending process, while assuring their banking needs and financial goals are met.

Layson has seven years of banking and lending experience, most recently serving as VP Commercial Lender with Century Bank & Trust. He is a graduate of the University of West Georgia and Georgia College and State University where he earned a degree in political science and an MBA, respectively. Layson is currently studying in Louisiana State University’s Graduate School of Banking.

“Chan is a great addition to our Lake Oconee team. His commercial lending experience will be beneficial as a trusted advisor to our customers,” said Karen Watson, BankSouth Market President.
