Greensboro, Ga.  – BankSouth, a community bank headquartered at Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Georgia celebrated its 75th anniversary with customers on Saturday, June 5. The event was held in downtown Greensboro at a historic venue, where hundreds of customers joined BankSouth’s employees, board of directors and Chief Exective Officer, Harold Reynolds in the festivities.

Among the attendees was Greensboro’s city councilman, Chris Moore, who presented a proclamation from the mayor of Greensboro declaring June 5th “BankSouth Day.”

“It’s great to celebrate this milestone where we started 75 years ago. We’ve had families and businesses that have banked with us for generations here, and we’re so thankful to them and our community for being a part of this journey with us,” said Harold Reynolds, BankSouth Chairman and CEO.

BankSouth was founded as Citizens Union Bank in 1946 in Greensboro. BankSouth has remained in the community since its inception, serving as a pillar of the growing city of Greensboro and Greene County. The bank now also serves communities across Georgia with branches in Watkinsville, Atlanta and Savannah and mortgage offices throughout the state.
