Mitchell Smith serves as a Relationship Manager at BankSouth’s Lake Oconee branch, working with individuals and businesses to understand their financial goals and provide relationship-focused guidance across a range of lending needs.
Mitchell brings a strong foundation in credit analysis and underwriting to his role. Before becoming a Relationship Manager, he spent three years in BankSouth’s Credit & Underwriting Department as a Credit Analyst. In that role, he underwrote consumer and commercial loans, analyzed financial information and cash flow, evaluated collateral and creditworthiness, and supported lending decisions across the bank.
His credit and underwriting background gives Mitchell a well-rounded perspective when working with customers. He understands what goes into building a strong loan request and is committed to making the lending process as straightforward and responsive as possible.
Mitchell earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics with an emphasis in Consulting from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business. He is also continuing his professional development through Georgia Banking School as a member of the Class of 2028.
Mitchell enjoys building relationships with his customers, learning what they want to accomplish, and helping identify financial solutions that can move those goals forward.
Outside of work, Mitchell enjoys reading and spending time with his wife and son.
