EATONTON, GA – BankSouth is proud to announce a $25,000 donation to Putnam General Hospital through the Georgia HEART Hospital Program. This contribution will directly support the hospital’s oncology and urology programs by helping fund the new Hydros Robotic System, the latest generation platform for Aquablation therapy.
The Hydros Robotic System provides minimally invasive, robotically guided treatment for enlarged prostate conditions. Using a heat-free, high-pressure waterjet, the system precisely removes excess tissue while helping preserve surrounding healthy structures, allowing patients to experience faster recovery and lasting symptom relief.
The newest generation of the technology incorporates AI-assisted treatment planning and enhanced imaging, bringing innovative care typically found in larger medical centers closer to home. By supporting this investment through the Georgia HEART program, BankSouth is helping ensure residents throughout Putnam County and surrounding communities have access to advanced healthcare without traveling long distances.
Putnam County has a growing need for advanced urologic and oncology services, with prostate cancer rates exceeding the state average and a significant population of residents over the age of 65. Since launching its urologic program in 2018, Putnam General Hospital has become a regional leader in rural patient care. The addition of the Hydros system will further expand those capabilities and improve access to innovative treatment for local patients.
“This investment represents more than new technology; it represents our commitment to ensuring that patients in rural Georgia have access to the same advanced treatment options available in larger metropolitan areas,” said Thomas Goss, CEO of Putnam General Hospital. “We are deeply grateful to BankSouth for their partnership and shared belief that exceptional healthcare should be accessible close to home.”Together, we are building a stronger future for healthcare in Putnam County and the surrounding region.”
“Access to exceptional healthcare is essential to the strength of every community,” said Harold Reynolds, CEO of BankSouth. “Through the Georgia HEART program, we’re proud to support Putnam General Hospital as it continues investing in innovative technology that improves lives and keeps high-quality care close to home.”
