Greensboro, Ga. – On September 16, 2025, BankSouth delivered a hands-on financial literacy class for tweens and teens at the Pete Nance Boys & Girls Club in Greensboro. Led by Bryce McCuin, Director of Marketing at BankSouth, and April Clemons-White, Branch Manager of BankSouth’s Downtown Greensboro location, the session is part of an ongoing initiative to bring financial education to students across the region. Launched a year ago, the partnership has already provided three classes, with the goal of offering one each quarter. This most recent class focused on equipping students with essential money management skills to help build a strong financial foundation.
During the interactive session, participants explored three key areas:
The importance of investing early and understanding different accounts to consider
How online banking works and how to use it safely
The value of having a bank account and building strong financial habits
Through engaging activities and real-world examples, students gained practical knowledge designed to set them up for financial success in the years ahead.
“Programs like this give us the opportunity to make a direct impact on future generations right here in our community,” said Bryce McCuin, Director of Marketing at BankSouth. “Seeing the kids connect with the material and begin to understand the power of saving, banking, and investing early was a rewarding experience for us.”
Stacy McClendon, Director of the Pete Nance Boys & Girls Club, praised the collaboration, noting how well it complemented the Club’s ongoing efforts.
“Our mission is to equip young people with the tools they need to succeed, and financial literacy is a critical part of that,” McClendon said. “Partnering with BankSouth not only supplements our own Money Smart programs but also brings in outside experts who provide valuable perspectives and knowledge. This gives our kids an even stronger foundation for their future.”
BankSouth is committed to strengthening the communities it serves by supporting programs that promote education, financial wellness, and opportunity. Through partnerships like this, the bank continues to invest in the next generation of leaders.
