BankSouth celebrates 75th anniversary, June 5th declared BankSouth Day by City of Greensboro

Greensboro, Ga.  – BankSouth, a community bank headquartered at Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Georgia celebrated its 75^th anniversary with customers on Saturday, June 5. The event was held in downtown Greensboro at a historic venue, where hundreds of customers joined BankSouth’s employees, board of directors and Chief Exective Officer, Harold Reynolds in the festivities.

Among the attendees was Greensboro’s city councilman, Chris Moore, who presented a proclamation from the mayor of Greensboro declaring June 5^th “BankSouth Day.”

“It’s great to celebrate this milestone where we started 75 years ago. We’ve had families and businesses that have banked with us for generations here, and we’re so thankful to them and our community for being a part of this journey with us,” said Harold Reynolds, BankSouth Chairman and CEO.

BankSouth was founded as Citizens Union Bank in 1946 in Greensboro. BankSouth has remained in the community since its inception, serving as a pillar of the growing city of Greensboro and Greene County.
