banksouth donates to greene county public safety foundation

Greensboro, GA – The Greene County Public Safety Foundation extends its sincere appreciation to BankSouth for a generous $25,000 contribution made through Georgia’s LESS Crime Act program. This significant donation will play a pivotal role in advancing the Foundation’s mission to enhance public safety initiatives within Greene County.

BankSouth’s commitment to the communities it serves is exemplified through its support of the LESS Crime Act program, which aims to foster safer neighborhoods across the state of Georgia. The bank’s substantial contribution will bolster the Greene County Sheriff’s Office in implementing innovative programs, upgrading essential equipment, and supporting the continued training of dedicated public safety personnel.

The LESS Crime Act is recently enacted state legislation that allows Georgia taxpayers to claim a dollar-for-dollar tax credit by contributing to qualified law enforcement foundations, such as the Greene County Public Safety Foundation. The Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was created specifically to participate in this new state tax credit initiative.

“We are profoundly grateful to BankSouth for its unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of Greene County,” said Steve Broadbent, Chairman of the Greene County Public Safety Foundation. “This generous contribution will empower the Foundation to implement public safety initiatives that have a lasting and positive impact on our community.”

“At BankSouth, our commitment to the communities we serve runs deep—because these are our communities, too,” said Harold Reynolds, President and CEO at BankSouth. “Supporting the Greene County Public Safety Foundation through the LESS Crime Act is a natural extension of our mission to make a meaningful difference. From public safety and education to health and wellness, we’re proud to invest in the people and places that make our community stronger.”

The LESS Crime Act program underscores Georgia’s commitment to safer communities through collaboration with businesses like BankSouth. Their support enables the Greene County Public Safety Foundation to continue vital work in crime prevention, emergency response, and community outreach.

Residents and businesses of Greene County are encouraged to visit the Foundation’s website at https://greenepsf.com to learn more about the program and discover how easy it is to direct their state tax dollars to this important cause.
