Why did you decide on your career?
Many lenders say that when they started working in the mortgage industry, they had no expectation for it to evolve into a career. It seems that once you get into it you do not get out. This applied to me. I did not intend for it to be my career but I absolutely fell in love with it. It is very rewarding to be involved with homeownership. You see the joys and achievement it brings to families.

On the weekends I enjoy cooking. I love to eat and cooking different cuisines. I also enjoy sailing our Hobie Cat and fishing off the back. I take in a concert any chance I get.

Kristy is an Atlanta native and a licensed mortgage loan originator who specializes in new construction. As a mortgage specialist, Kristy is dedicated to providing the most exceptional customer service available for both seasoned and first-time homebuyers. She has over 20 years of experience in assisting buyers in achieving the American dream of home ownership. Kristy is a gold and platinum recipient member of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Georgia. She is here to assist you with any questions or guidance needed through the lending process.

Working with Kristy has been a pleasure. This was our first home purchase so we had no clue how this all worked going into it. She guided us through the whole process. She always kept us up to date via email. If we hadn’t responded to her within a couple hours (as we both work 12 hour days) she would give us a call and tell us there was something for us to review or sign. Bank south app made it super easy to keep track of everything we had to sign or review. No matter who called us from the office they were always very nice and ready to help us.

I don’t typically write reviews, but it is a must that I let it be known how AMAZING Kristy Ragsdale was throughout the entire process! Outside of her courtesy and professionalism, she went above and beyond in making the process simple. Kristy is honest, knowledgeable and very responsive. She kept me informed every step of the way - questions or concerns about anything, she was quick to answer. Responsiveness is the KEY characteristic she possess - it shows I am a priority! Her judgement and responsiveness is WHY I am a “Repeat” customer!

Bottom line: communication ON POINT, smooth, on time closing.To be completely honest, my initial interaction with Kristy I wasn't impressed. I guess her tone? She sounded like she didn't have time for me, my questions, and like she had a snarky attitude. My realtor got the same impression over the phone. Maybe she's just an intense person and that's what makes her excellent? Or maybe she was just really too busy as it was the COVID housing boom time. I initially started working with other lenders because of this, but kept up with Kristy too to see which I liked best. Via email communication Kristy was the most responsive by a LONGGGGG SHOT!! She answered all questions in depth with an average response time of about 5 MINUTES!!! While others were 24 or 48 hours, if at all. She replied after 5pm, 9pm and even at 3am and on weekends sometimes. Her whole team's response time and communication by email was above and beyond OUTSTANDING! Even when I got automatic emails saying they was taking the day off, they still ended up responding within 5 minutes. When I finally found my home and got to underwriting it was nearly painless. Of all the horror stories I read of the crazy things underwrighters ask for, none of that. It went pretty quickly and closed on time. I felt extremely funny about who I conducted hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of business with and committed 30 years of my life to, and I couldn't have asked for much better... She also gave me an approval prior to reaching 2 years post bankruptcy, and I used GA dream.

As a first time home buyer, I was extremely thankful to Kristy for the honesty, professionalism, knowledge, patience, timeliness and care with which she assisted and guided me throughout the mortgage process. I could not have asked for a better Mortgage team than Kristy, April B., and April M. and the rest of their oustanding team members. Everyone was readily available and helpful, without fail. I just closed on a home today. And, I have such respect and gratitude for Chrsity and her team for all of their efforts on my behalf. I can recommend them with the highest regards!
